    Description

    JAPANESE SATSUMA PLATE
    Bird & Flowers
    Beautifully painted plate with a fine, crackled glaze.
    The dot that looks like an insect by the bird's beak is a tiny, glaze flaw.
    There are a couple of others, not uncommon for pottery of this type.
    There are no chips, nicks, scratches or cracks.
    The background is washed in subtle, pale colors that fade into each other.
    There is no damage to the careful painting of the bird and flowers.
    The last photo shows the plate on a slant where it is easier to see the
    amount of hand-painted detail.
