    Description

    This is a vintage Japanese hand painted ceramic plate dating back to the mid Showa Era (c. 1960's) made of a high fire ceramic .   The art work is of one of the seven Japanese Buddhist Gods of Luck, Ebisu.  He is the patron saint god of fishermen.  It is skillfully hand painted. and is signed by the Japanese artist, Sakurayama (see picture 6). He is seen here bring in a red snapper -( tai -sea bream).
    This plate measures 10 1/4" in diameter by 1 " tall (27 x 2.5. cm).  Having been in storage for over 60 years, it remains in
    very fine condition.
