Hardbound in Near Fine condition, 233 pages includes a FRONTISPIECE, CONTENTS, List of ILLUSTRATIONS, and a GLOSSARY, measures approximately 7” x 9 ¼”, no dust jacket, none issued.
The boards are covered in medium blue cloth with one of the classic Blanding surfer graphics on the cover against an orange sun.  They are clean and straight, with only slight wear to the edges, a bit of crushing of fabric at the ends of the spine but no tears or fraying.    The book has been fitted with a Protective Jacket of acid free clear 5 ml. Mylar to help protect it in the future.
The interior reveals contents that are clean, tightly bound no loose or misaligned pages. There is perhaps slight age toning consistent with the date of publication, but no foxing and no previous owner indications, no marks, creases or tears.
Presenting a frontispiece in blue, chapter decorations and eight double-page displays, several full-page, STOWAWAYS is Mr. Blanding’s most difficult to obtain book written in prose.  It includes all of the island magnetism for which he became so well known in HULA MOONS, but this story incorporates the fun and mischief of two adolescent boys and their Island friends as they eat, swim, surf, fish, enjoy life and solve mysteries of both the past and present.
There is no Hawaii like that of Don Blanding.  His rare ability to express the beauty, the fragrances and tastes of the tropics captivated the imaginations of visitors and local people of all ages.
