From the Mineralogical Record: Dr. Francesco Bedogne was an Italian mineralogist and mineral collector (and dealer?) in Sondrio, near Milan. He was born August 23, 1942. Bedogne had numerous mineralogical publications to his credit, including works on the mineralogy of Val Chiavenna, Val Malenco, Val Bregaglia, Val Masino, Val Codera, Val Spluga,Tanno, Valtellina, and other sites. During the mid 1960s he was among the most active Italian field collectors and mineral collectors, and contributed significantly to the documentation of regional mineralogy in Italy. He was the author of dozens of articles, both in professional scientific journals and in popular magazines, and also wrote several key books on the mineralogy of Sondrio Province.
