  • Condition: In this auction is a Lou Brock signed Rawlings "Official Minor League" baseball. Even though, the ball is not signed in the "Sweet Spot" and is personalized as follows: - "To: Tony, Best of luck, Lou Brock", the baseball displays a strong black-ink autograph from the St. Louis Cardinals, Hall of Famer. The ball was not game-used. It does show a couple of minor scuffs and is slightly discolored from many years of storage. None of the stitching is damaged. When signed, the pen seems to have skipped when Mr. Brock was making the letter "L" of his first name (refer to my second photo). Please enlarge and closely review each of the photos I’ve included for this auction and consider them an important part of the description.…..jeff

    Up for auction from my Great Uncles estate, an avid baseball fan, is a
    Lou Brock Signed Rawlings Official Minor League (OML) Baseball personalized to "Tony - Best of Luck - Lou Brock". During the early 80’s, Uncle's family had a second home in St. Petersburg where the St. Louis Cardinals held
    spring training.
    Brock was a spring training base running instructor for the "Cardinals" during the 1982 season, the year they won the World Series.......jeff
    Lou Brock began his 19-year career in professional baseball with the 1961 Chicago Cubs but spent the majority of his year as a left fielder for the St. Louis Cardinals. Best known for his base stealing ability, breaking Ty Cobb's all-time major league career steals and Maury Wills single-season record. Brock was an All-Star for six seasons and a National League (NL) stolen base leader for eight. He led the National League in doubles and triples in 1968 and singles in 1972. On Sunday September 9,1979, the St. Louis Cardinals retired Brock's jersey number 20, an honor thathad previously been bestowed upon only three other Cardinals players; Stan Musial, Dizzy Dean, and Bob Gibson. Brock was inducted into baseball’s Hall of Fame in 1985. And passed away on September 6, 2020.
