    This is a beautiful and colorful specimen consisting masses of small bright green crystals of the copper silicate mineral DIOPTASE completely covering one side of a light brown matrix with some minor clear to white CALCITE crystals from the Christmas Mine, Christmas, Banner Mining District, Gila County, Arizona, USA. The specimen is 4.2 by 3.3 by 1.2 cms in size or about 1.68 by 1.32 by 0.48 inches and weighs 24.4 grams. Excellent for the location.
