    Description

This is a new in box Imari style Japanese decorative plate with Japanese inscriptions and two logos on the back
(one painted in red and another above it/impressed on the plate with no color)
. Very beautiful and colorful. This circular plate has eight sides, shaped almost like petals. Painted nicely on both sides, featuring botanical designs with deep blue and white backgrounds. Nice vivid color selections of predominantly blue, red, white, green, and gold.
Some images have thick paint layers, providing nice slightly raised textures.
Imari/Arita ware is a Western term for brightly-colored Japanese porcelain exported to Europe since the 17th century. Typically decorated in
    under-glaze
blue, with red, gold, black for outlines, and sometimes other colors, added in
    over-glaze
. The name derives from the port of Imari, from which they were shipped to Nagasaki, where the Dutch East India Company and the Chinese had trading outposts. Imari ware was copied in both China and Europe and has been continuously produced to the present day.
New in Box. Very nice and beautiful.
Measures 6 ¾” in diameter across and 1 3/8” high.
Sold as-is. Please see pictures for further details and feel free to ask if you have any questions. Thank you!
