    Philadelphia Edition. 8 5/8 x 5 3/8. [1], iv-vi, 2-504 pp. Illustrated with three lithograph portraits of the authors. Would appear to be the original leather binding. Front cover detached but present. Spine with ½ inch loss at top and 2-inch loss at bottom. Rear cover present and attached. A well-worn and darkened binding. First end page detached but present. There are marginal notes in pencil first 43 pages. Front edge of pages 151/152 has a 3 ½ inch long chip, not affecting text.  Foxing throughout.
