Here is another FIND from one of my over 500 boxes of books, ephemera and just stuff. It took 60+ years to accumulate these treasures, and each week, I retrieve a dozen or so boxes from my storage units and post some selected items on eBay.

WEAF was founded by A.T.& T. in 1922. In 1926, it was sold to RCA (and became WNBC) because A.T.& T. concluded that radio broadcasting was a one-way service in the entertainment field, and therefore, not compatible with A.T. & T.'s principal business of furnishing two-way communication.
Banning was with A.T. & T. for 24 years. A first-hand account, he writes about and believed that WEAF's four-year experiment aided the development of radio broadcasting in three ways:
In science and technology, including broadcasting programs to Paris and Honolulu as early as 1915. Also, the establishment of network broadcasting.
Emphasizing a high standard of radio programs.
Determination of how radio broadcasting could support itself... by selling time on the air.
Read the Contents and the Author's Preface pages shown in photos 5 & 6 for more about the book.
The book itself is near-new, 308 pages with 29 illustrations, clean with no inscriptions or markings. Green cloth with gold lettered titles. The dust jacket is in good condition, spine and rear a bit faded, and a few small tears at the top and bottom of the folds. Some small spots on the cover. Included is a 4 1/2 page chronology of WEAF and a 14-page index.
