Antique French Leather Book Safe

Description

This is a very rare small Antique double book safe used to hide money or valuables. It is a geometry text book, “Elemens de Geometrie.” Attached to another text, which is entirely fake, entitled “Theologie D’ Antoine” The math text, 16 pages, is written in French and the title page has the Roman numeral date “M. DCC. LXV”, which translates to 1765. The inside cover and the secret compartment are lined with a colorful and abstract designed paper called “Marble paper”. There is a signature tag on the inside cover with the name “Paul Laurent Graveur 34,Faubgsthonore PARIS”
The cover, with a gilt border and regal coat of arms, is worn due to age, but the spine is in excellent condition. It is 8-1/2 inches tall, 5-1/2 inches wide and 2-1/2 inches thick. The secret compartment is 6-1/2 inches tall, 4 inches wide and 2 inches deep. The weight is 1 pound 1 ounce.
