    Description

    This is a nice specimen of green-gray Actinolite/Tremolite from one of the old
    Chelmsford
    Massachusetts
    lime quarries. Also has some calcite and reddish-brown mica.
    It measures about 3x1.5x2.5” and weighs 7.4oz.
    Cleaned only with mild soaps and soft toothbrush.
    The lime produced from this area was known to be of top quality, almost as hard as tile.
    The local quarry industry ended around 1830, which means any mineral specimen found today has been sitting around for 189 years!
