2.9" Garnierite gemstone sphere with stand.  This 74mm sphere is carved from natural Garnierite, a nickel ore mineral showing lightning-like veins through the stone with copper-patina green hued nickel inclusions in feldspar stone.  Garnierite is found in veins and pockets of weathered ultramafic rock, igneous rock with a high mafic content.  Mafic is a silicate mineral rich in magnesium and iron.  Garnierite has a high nickel content and is an important ore of the metal.  Includes a wood tripod stand, carved from a single piece of wood.  Sphere weighs over 1 1/4 lb.  A great Garnierite sphere for display, study, and metaphysical use.
