This is the penultimate, high-grade autographed baseball from the last year of the
Kansas City Athletics'
franchise. The Joe Cronin Official American League baseball is in Mint (brand new) condition and exhibits a bright white appearance. 33 period signatures are featured on the ball and range from 9 to 10 in quality.  Most significantly, there are autographs of Reggie Jackson (first year on the team; played in only 35 games), Jim Hunter (before he signed as Jim "Catfish" Hunter), and Luke Appling, who was one of the two managers along with Al Dark.  A simply fantastic piece of sports memorabilia that showcases many of the early stars who would later form the nucleus of the 1972-74 World Champion, Oakland Athletics.
Based on the included players, it is apparent that the baseball is from early June.  As such, it could very well be one of the first team baseballs signed by Reggie Jackson when he was first called to the major leagues from Birmingham on June 9.
