1944 The Long House of the Iroquois by Spencer Lionel Adams PERSONAL OWNED BOOK
This is a 100% legit rarity & was personally owned by SLA - Spencer Lionel Adams. I have further stuff of his that will be listed here soon including glass lantern slides that many are shown inside this book all the way to a camera he used and even another book he wrote! Because of the qty of things they will only be listed in lots separately because I need to show as much as possible and Ebay has a limit of 12 photos to show which if you look above you will see what is in this listing. If you buy this lot, the further remaining items would be offered to you first here before anybody else when I get to them as time permits.
1) This includes Spencer Adams personally owned book "The Long House of the Iroquois". This was a limited printing in 1944 which only 500 were printed and 285 of them were sold which the other 215 were given to friends & libraries museums etc. This book is hardbound and with some wear but in "G" good condition overall. His initials are inside the front as well as his personal etching mounted underneath that. There are also some clippings that were in the front of the book which are also included.
2) The 2nd item included is the etching book plate. It appears to be copper back and maybe polished silver front? It is backwards so that when it was pressed it would make the positive etching. Considering it would have been made by an artist or someone that knew how to etch in metal this is a pretty neat piece of art I'd say. It had been in a brown little folder so has stayed in pretty nice shape all these years.
3) The 3rd item included is the lot of over 35 of the paper etchings which are shown next to the printing plate. They are in "G" good condition and were stored in a little box and probably why they are in nice condition for being so old & somewhat delicate.
